The Situation

Carbon Revolution is the world’s only commercial-grade manufacturer of production-level carbon-fiber wheels for high-end/performance vehicles sold by leading automotive manufacturers, including Lamborghini, Ferrari, and Land Rover. We were engaged as Chief Restructuring Officer to facilitate a credit bid by the company’s private credit lenders.

Strategy & Execution

We oversaw the company’s operations and restructuring in Australia, during which the company successfully entered voluntary administration, reduced its operating expenses dramatically, negotiated a longstanding settlement with one of its customers, undertook a sale process for its business, and ultimately accepted a credit bid from its existing lender, which resulted in the lender taking ownership and further injecting equity into the business.

Outcome

Carbon Revolution successfully emerged from administration both operationally and financially stronger. The business has improved dramatically since emergence and continues to serve its existing customer base while planning for at least a partial relocation of manufacturing from Australia to Mexico.
